WELCOME!! Many great things are in place for us and we would like for you to join us in our adventure.
Reality is, many are loosing their homes, their jobs and can no longer provide for their pets. B.F.H. recognizes this, as well as the negative image of the breed. We thrive ourselves in rescuing, rehabilitating and re-homing these unfortunate souls.

So many of the breed are abused, neglected only to be dumped off in KILL shelters, where the life expectancy is less then 72 hrs. Overcrowding in shelters are an everyday occurrence and many pay the price with their lives.
B.F.H. encourages all to open their hearts and homes to one of those beautiful creatures and give them the life that they so deserve and yearn for.

Please check out our Online Stores for wonderful gift items. All of those items will benefit one of our current dog(s) and any future dog(s) who will enter our rescue.

FeaturedPet of the Month Sargent

Sarge is a Shiba Inu/mix he's up to date on his shots, fixed, potty trained, crate trained. He gets along great with other dogs, ok with cats

Please contact us at adoptions@bustersandfostershaven.org for a chance to meet this wonderful guy.

Something special that everyone should read written by someone who feels as many of us do. And those who don't maybe you can learn something, start to feel something and STOP being selfish, they are god's creatures.

"Just a Dog"

Barbara B.

From time to time people tell me, "Lighten up, it's just a dog", or "That's a lot of money for just a dog". they don't understand the distance traveled, time spent, or costs involved for "Just a dog". Some of my proudest moments have come about with "just a dog". Many hours have passed with my only company being "just a dog", and not once have I felt slighted. Some of my saddest moments were brought about by "just a dog". In those days of darkness, the gentle touch of "just a dog" provided comfort and purpose to overcome the day.

If you, too, think it's "just a dog", you will probably understand phrases like "just a friend" , "just a sunrise",or "just a promise". "Just a dog" brings into my life the very essence of friendship, trust and pure unbridled joy. "Just a dog" brings out the compassion and patience that makes me a better person. Because of "just a dog" I will rise early, take long walks and look longingly to the future.

For me and folks like me, its not "just a dog". It's an embodiment of all the hopes & dreams of the future, the fond memories of the past, and the pure joy of the moment. "Just a dog" brings out what's good in me & diverts my thoughts away from myself and the worries of the day.

I hope that someday people can understand that it iis not "Just a dog". It is the thing that gives me humanity and keeps me from being "just a woman".

So the next time you hear the phrase "just a dog"...smile, because they "just don't understand"
